Leader Region Westrich-Glantal
The 87 local communities that belong to the six union communities of Bruchmühlbach-Miesau, Landstuhl, Oberes Glantal, Ramstein-Miesenbach, Kusel-Altenglan and Weilerbach want to tackle the region together. The four first-mentioned union communities had already merged to form the LEADER region in the previous funding period 2014-2022. Now the LEADER region will be expanded to the north-east by the union communities Kusel-Altenglan and Weilerbach. The EU funding program LEADER offers numerous opportunities for funding for the implementation of projects for municipal administrations as well as for entrepreneurs, associations, and private individuals. The Local Action Group (LAG) Westrich-Glantal organizes the funding for this region.
About LEADER
Central principles of the LEADER approach are projects that benefit the development of rural areas and the participation of all residents of the region. The spectrum of funded projects ranges from economic, social, and cultural to historical projects. A wide variety of interest groups are represented in our diverse LAG board of directors. In addition, the three fields of action of the past funding period were expanded to include a further field to be able to address a broader range of topics. The LAG repeatedly offers information evenings or working groups to give all citizens of the region the opportunity to help shape the work of the LAG.

How to Obtain Funding
You have got an idea that makes a positive contribution to the development of our region?
The regional management will be happy to advise you on the planning of your project and support you in preparing the application for funding.
The board of directors consults about your project and selects it for funding based on regional quality criteria.
The supervision and service administration body (Aufsichts- und Dienstleistungsdirektion ADD) in Trier approves your funding.
Now you can start your project. Also, in this process we are on hand with help and advice for you.
Your LEADER Project
LEADER offers the basis for the implementation of diverse projects by different people and organizations. In addition to associations and municipalities, private individuals can also be supported in their future development with grants. The funding quota depends on the body running the project. With LEADER, funding between €2,000 and €250,000 is possible. In the new funding period, the funding rates are as follows:
